Goldberg concludes one chapter of his book by noting that liberals in the media "can even hear whispers of what they consider hate speech fifty miles away - whether they imagine that it's coming from conservative talk show hosts or rightwing religious fundamentalists or just about anyone opposed to affirmative action … But they can't hear it dripping off their own nasty tongues ... and probably think 'liberal hate speech' is an oxymoron … It's a good thing arrogance isn't a crime."

Conservative columnist Michelle Malkin has been a prime target for the most vile of the hate-mongers, and says that it’s primarily because she’s a black woman do dares to be a conservative.

Among the comments directed at her, posted on her blog at michellemalkin.com:

* “What I want to really know is whether Malkin has the ability to suck the chrome off of a trailer hitch.”

* “I mean, she’s gotta have SOME kind of purposeful earthly use walking around on this planet, because she certainly doesn’t have one that has anything to do with her intellect or her political views.”

* “Why exactly does this large toothed educated female wog believe that she will be treated as white when God chose to make her yellow?”

* “Even her political allies see her as nothing more than a trained monkey coached into saying a few simple racial truths that would be politically damaging if put into the mouths of a white man?”

* “Her hatred for her fellow wogs comes from an inability to accept that God did not make her a European and that God chose to make her a woman.”

* “Please, beat her severely and set her to work in a brothel somewhere in Malaysia that services Islamic terrorists.”

One key aspect of liberal hate speech is its sheer arrogance. Liberals, especially Hollywood liberals, truly believe that they are smarter than everyone else and thus we’ll believe everything they say, no matter how hateful.

“The very essence of intolerance is to dehumanize the people with whom you disagree by asserting that they are not just wrong, but wicked,” writes Syracuse journalism professor Arthur C. Brooks in the Wall Street Journal. “In the end, we have to face the fact that political intolerance in America -- ugly and unfortunate on either side of the political aisle -- is to be found more on the left than it is on the right. This may not square with the moral vanity of progressive political stereotypes, but it's true.”

The Hollywood left in particular considers itself to be morally superior to anyone else, even though it is responsible for much of the moral decay of American society.

Sacramento Union columnist Katy Grimes notes the two-faced nature of so many of Hollywood’s most vocal leftists like Sean Penn and Danny Glover: “Yeah, sure there are some who live the ideology, but not many. It's too easy to purchase the image while living well.”

Writes WorldNetDaily.com’s Judith Reisman: “In a classic example of hypocrisy, (actress Susan) Sarandon's fame was based on her exploitation of a 12-year-old child in the gateway ‘soft’ child pornography film, ‘Pretty Baby,’ where Sarandon plays Brooke Shields' sexy prostitute mama. The French producer, Malle, makes the arguably nude Shields laugh about her rape by mama's old customer. Sarandon applauds the caper – after all, he paid good money for the child's virginity at auction.
