BayouVixen Entertainment
Bayou Photography
began operations in 1998 when photographer Dave Mundy snapped a few portfolio
shots for local aspiring models in Orange, Texas.
Bayou Bikini Co. started
up in the spring of 2004 when Dave began trading and selling on EBay --
buying swimsuits and apparel in lots, photographing them being worn by
models, then selling them individually. This became the foundation for
Bayou
Bikini Co. The site itself went online in July, 2004, after Dave reached
a wholesale agreement with American Bikini Shops to retail their swimwear
and lingerie.
When Hurricane
Rita hit the Houston area in late 2005, a power surge destroyed the
hard drive which contained all the Bayou Bikini Co. files, and the site
eventually closed. Dave revived his web operations in the middle of 2006
as Bayou Bikini E-Magazine, which became the forerunner for
Bayou
Vixen E-Magazine, which debuted in April, 2007. The e-magazine
proved to be very popular with readers, and when Mundy reached an agreement
with Viper Swimwear to provide advertising photos for their products in
exchange for secure web hosting, the expansion of his operation into BayouVixen
Productions began first with the debut of the BayouVixen web
site, then BayouCity Apparel. The company is now partnering
with several of the BayouVixen models to also produce individual paysites
for the models.
Dave, a former
U.S. Marine Corps combat correspondent, has more than 25 years' experience
as a photojournalist and won more than 40 awards at the regional, state
and national level for journalistic excellence before leaving the newspaper
industry permanently in 2001. He currently serves as president of BayouVixen
Productions.
